Aubameyang Arsenal EPL

Manchester City are trying desperately to land Harry Kane but if Spurs refuse to sell him then Pep Guardiola has been urged to shift his focus to Arsenal’s Aubameyang.

Yes, according to Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas, the defending champions should consider signing the Arsenal forward since he will be a much cheaper alternative to Kane.

He said, as quoted: “They could go for someone like Aubameyang. It looks like something is going wrong at Arsenal at the moment, and we do know Aubameyang scores goals. He’s got pace, and he’s got movement,

“I prefer him on the left, but I could see something like that materialise. It gives Manchester City a cheaper option.

“He’s not as good as Kane, but he’s as good a finisher as Kane.”

Will Manchester City move for Aubameyang?

A few years ago Aubameyang was one of the top forwards in the Premier League but last season he saw a massive dip in form, something from which he hasn’t been able to recover yet.

He contracted malaria last year and two weeks ago he tested positive for COVID as well. And since he’s well past his prime, these medical setbacks will really hamper his return to full fitness.

He missed Arsenal’s opening day match against Brentford and only came on as a sub against Chelsea on Sunday.

Arsenal are a club who have a lot of use for Aubameyang but to be honest, the Manchester City boss will not be too interested in signing a 32-year-old forward.

Also, the best and most effective position for Aubameyang is on the left flank so it could turn out to be a gamble signing for Guardiola.

Mikel Arteta has reportedly put Alexandre Lacazette up for sale this summer so there’s no way the Arsenal manager will sanction an exit for Aubameyang in the same transfer window.

If Man City are not getting the services of Harry Kane then we think Pep Guardiola will put his faith in Gabriel Jesus and Torres to see the first half of the season through.
