Leave it to Barcelona for being linked to almost every transfer target on European soil.

According to the Daily Star, Barcelona are now being linked with Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose. Rose has been an outcast at Spurs ever since he publicly criticized Mauricio Pochettino’s signings over the past couple of seasons. And it was pretty clear that the Englishman was going to be shown the door at some point during the course of the season.

Manchester United were said to be the favourites to land the player and even last week it was being said that United are readying a January bid for the left-back. Now though it seems that Barcelona have joined the race in signing Rose.

WHAT ARE BARCELONA OFFERING?

It seems that Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has lost faith in his left-back Jordi Alba and the report is suggesting that he can offer Alba as part of a swap deal to bring Danny Rose to the Bernabeu.

Manchester United were also said to be offering their out of favour left-back Luke Shaw to Tottenham Hotspur as part of the deal.

BUT DO UNITED ALREADY HAVE A BACKUP?

The sudden interest from Barcelona are sure to dampen the mood at Old Trafford a little bit but if it seems as if Manchester United might have already found a replacement. A report today suggested that Jose Mourinho is now looking at Juventus’ Alex Sandro in order to fill up that gap in left-back. Mourinho has marked Sandro as one of his biggest transfer targets for next summer meaning that Danny Rose might not move to Manchester United after all.
