It looks like FC Barcelona are planning to offload Samuel Umtiti during the summer transfer window – as per reports.

Umtiti joined the Catalans from Ligue 1 side Lyon in 2016 and since then the centre-back has played in 93 games for Barcelona.

But this season, the defender has failed to secure a regular place in the first XI this season mainly due to a serious knee injury.

And now it looks like Barcelona have seen enough of him and the club are ready to listen to offers for the sale of Samuel Umtiti.

This season, Samuel Umtiti has played in only nine La Liga games thanks to that injury and there is every possibility that the 25-year-old could move to the Premier League next season.

As per reports, both Man United and Man City are willing to make a move for the defender and if Barcelona do decide to sell him then both the Manchester clubs are ready to make a move.

Currently, Samuel Umtiti is valued at €70 million according to TransferMarkt but some pundits believe that Barcelona will be more than happy to sell him off in that same price bracket given the defender has hardly played this season.

Man United are planning to sell of Eric Bailly during the summer and Samuel Umtiti will be a perfect replacement for the Ivorian.

Man City on the other hand also have a few ageing defenders to replace but their move for the Barcelona man will depend on whether they manage to escape a transfer ban.

Samuel Umiti might not have played too many games this season but being just 25 years old, the Frenchman still have a lot of football left in him.

But it remains to be seen whether the centre-back is eager enough to take up a new challenge and move to the Premier League next season.
