The report cites Mundo Deportivo saying: “Barcelona left-back Junior Firpo has been linked with a move away from the club this summer and the likes of West Ham United and Southampton have been linked with the player.
“According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are keen on selling the 24-year-old defender this summer and the Hammers have submitted an offer for the player.
“The report further states that Barcelona like the offer from the Premier League club. However, the details of the offer have not been mentioned.”
This is not the first time West Ham United have shown an inclination towards signing Junior Firpo since back in January, the Premier League side wanted him on a short-term loan deal. But somehow the deal did not materialize.
Now that the Hammers have gotten back into Europe, David Moyes has once again reignited his interest in the 24-year-old and this time, they are confident of getting their man.

Firpo joined Barcelona from Real Betis in 2019 for a fee of £16.20 million(as per TransferMarkt) but the left-back has failed to carve out a niche in the first-team squad.
During the 2020-21 season, the defender played in 18 games for Barcelona, out of which only seven were in the La Liga.
Junior Firpo has three years left on his contract with Barca and is valued at £7.20 million which is why we are expecting the Hammers bid to be in the region of £10-15 million.
Aaron Cresswell is already 31 years old and has only a few years of top-level football left in him. So someone like Firpo could very well become the long-term successor to him at the London Stadium.
