England have kicked off their World Cup campaign with a 2-1 win against Tunisia and now former England legend David Beckham has backed the Three Lions to reach the finals in Russia.

But which is the other team that will play against Gareth Southgate’s side?

According to David Beckham, Lionel Messi’s Argentina will be the other finalist.

Beckham said: “I believe Argentina will play against England in the final.

“I think obviously my choice would be England to win the competition, but that’s me being biased and passionate about my country.

“I’m very happy that we won the first game in the group.

“England is a very young team, they don’t have a lot of experience yet and the journey of the World Cup will become harder and harder because there are many good teams in the tournament.”

We can see where David Beckham is coming from given the fact that the former Manchester United winger has a lot of history with the South American side – both during the 1998 and 2002 World Cup.

While England picked up all three points during their World Cup opener, Argentina stumbled against Iceland and were held to a 1-1 draw.

Lionel Messi’s side take on Croatia in their second Group D game on Thursday evening and England take on Panama in their Group G match on Sunday afternoon.
