Liverpool misfit Ben Davies is being eyed by a few big British clubs but it looks like the centre-back has no intention of leaving Anfield this summer, as per the Daily Mirror’s David Anderson.

On Friday there were reports that Scottish side Celtic FC have reignited their interest in the 25-year-old and are now willing to fight AFC Bournemouth for his signature.

The Daily Mail report claims: “Celtic are back in the hunt for unsettled Liverpool central defender Ben Davies.

“The Parkhead club were close to securing a £2million deal with the former Preston North End star in January before being gazumped by a shock late move by Jurgen Klopp.

“While Liverpool would rather sell for a hefty profit, Celtic are now in competition with a posse of English clubs – including Championship outfit Bournemouth – to tie up a season-long loan deal.”

But as per David Anderson, Jurgen Klopp is not too keen to let Ben Davies leave during the ongoing transfer window which seems to have urged the defender to stay and fight for his place in the side.

Anderson wrote on Twitter: “Ben Davies will reject fresh interest from Celtic and Bournemouth to stay at Liverpool.

“He wants to try again this season to make an impact at Anfield and is encouraged by the fact Jurgen Klopp wants him to remain.”

Should Ben Davies leave Liverpool?

Ben Davies joined Liverpool during the January transfer window and so far, he’s turned out to be a massively failed project.

And with clubs like Bournemouth and Celtic interested in signing it was a no-brainer that he will want to leave as soon as possible. But according to the report, the opposite seems to be true.

Liverpool have players like Van Dijk, Joe Gomes, Joel Matip, Nat Phillips, Rhys Williams already in their squad and this summer they have also signed Ibrahima Konate. So we are not sure why Ben Davies wants to stay back and fight for his place.

He will be a guaranteed starter at either Celtic or AFC Bournemouth but if he chooses to stay at Liverpool he might not even get to play in the cup competitions next season.

The 25-year-old still has a lot of football left ahead of him so he should be wise and grasp this exit opportunity instead of gambling on his future.
