Brighton and Hove Albion defender Ben White has suddenly become the talk of the town and as many as five major European clubs are said to be interested in signing him.

The 23-year-old was recently called up to the England squad for the Euros and since then, he has been constantly linked with a series of top clubs. Arsenal are said to be one of the frontrunners in signing him but as per the latest reports, Real Madrid are also going to battle the Premier League sides to sign the central defender.

Defensa Central claims, as translated: “As it has been found out by Defensa Central, his[Ancelotti’s] would be Ben White. The Brighton central defender has been one of the best this season.

“So the British international would be an option in case Real Madrid were to loose out on their other transfer targets this summer.

“Although it will not be easy to convince Ben White either. The growth of him as a player has made his price also rises, so he will not be a cheap option.

“Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United and would have already been ready to hire this young and promising defender. What makes many rumors place its price close to 50 million.”

Some rumours claim Arsenal have already made a £40 million unsuccessful bid for the Brighton and Hove Albion defender but the Seagulls are not ready to accept anything less than £50 million.

And this is where the Gunners could lose significant ground to clubs like Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United. United and Liverpool are actively looking for a new central defender and someone like Ben White could turn out to be a pretty good buy for either one of them, especially since the demanded price will not be a problem for them.

Ben White is very much aware of the interest in him and if he wants to play at the highest level then is much more likely to choose a move to either Liverpool or Manchester United.

Real Madrid are also monitoring his situation but we don’t think the defender will be eager to go and play in Spain so early on in his career. Also, White is not Ancelotti’s first-choice target right now.

Arsenal remain confident they can fend off the other suitors and sign Ben White this summer but for that to happen, the Gunners will need to dig deep into their pockets and pay the necessary transfer fee for the Brighton and Hove defender.
