Claudio Bravo to replace Bernd Leno

Arsenal keeper Bernd Leno suffered a nasty injury against Brighton during the weekend and the German could be out of action for as many as 12 months, as per reports.

The report claims: “The Gunners boss has seen his summer strategy suffer a significant blow during the first week of the Premier League’s Project Restart.

“Now Bernd Leno looks set for an extended spell on the sidelines after the horrible knee injury he sustained against Brighton on Saturday.

“The true extent of Leno’s injury has yet to be confirmed, but there are fears he has damaged the cruciate ligament in his left knee and could be facing up to a year out.”

This is a major blow for Mikel Arteta and his summer plans but if the injury to Bernd Leno is indeed serious then Arsenal have no other option but to try and secure the signing of a new goalkeeper before the next season begins.

And as per various reports, there are two shotstoppers who are currently being eyed by the Gunners thinktank.

Neto – FC Barcelona:

As per reports, Arsenal have already made enquiries about the Barcelona keeper who has played just four games across all competitions this season.

The 30-year-old joined Barca last summer from Valencia and his current agent happens to be Kia Joorabchian who has a great working relationship with the Gunners.

And this is the primary reason why Arsenal think they will be able to secure a loan move for Neto during the summer.

Claudio Bravo – Man City:

The Spanish keeper is out of contract at Man City this summer and his yet to decide on his next destination.

Mikel Arteta has worked closely with the 37-year-old which is why luring him to the Emirates should not be a major ask for the Arsenal boss.

It’s still not sure as to how long Bernd Leno will be out of action but if Bravo is guaranteed game time for the whole of the 2020-21 season, the Man City man will love to move to London in the summer.

Update on the injury of Bernd Leno:

It looks like the keeper has not sustained massive ligament damage and should return to full training in four to six weeks, as per the official report from the club.
