Midfielder Billy Gilmour has been tipped to move out of Chelsea on a loan deal this summer and a series of big clubs are keen to bring him on board.

Premier League sides such as Wolves and Leeds United have been linked with him and recently, even Norwich City also registered an interest in the Scottish international.

Billy Gilmour is a product of the Rangers FC academy and some sources claim Steven Gerrard is also eager to bring sign him on a season-long loan deal this summer.

And while everyone is still pondering over what Chelsea are going to do, Record Sport are claiming that Gilmour’s immediate future depends on what happens with Mateo Kovacic and that Tuchel is more inclined to keep him in England instead of letting him head back home.

A source told Daily Record: “There have been some conflicting signals where Billy’s immediate future is concerned.  It may depend on whether or not Mateo Kovacic stays or leaves the club this summer.

“But there is no doubt how highly Chelsea rate Billy. If they do agree to loan him out for experience they might prefer him to be playing in the Premier League with the likes of Norwich, Wolves or Leeds.

“But they also know Steven Gerrard is a big admirer – and that Rangers are very much in the market for taking young players from Premier League academies on loan and giving them top team experience as part of a well coached side.”

This is obviously going to be a big blow for Rangers FC who were hoping to lure Billy Gilmour back to the club by using their manager Steven Gerrard.

But we can understand why Tuchel will want to keep the youngster in the Premier League rather than sending him across the border.

We doubt if Mateo Kovacic will be leaving this summer so a loan move looks like the immediate fate for Billy Gilmour. And as per some rumours doing the rounds in the English media, Norwich City are confident they can secure the midfielder’s signing ahead of Leeds United or Wolves since manager Daniel Farke shares a great relationship with Thomas Tuchel.

Also, Gilmour will find it really hard to break into the starting XI at Leeds United and if Ruben Neves is not leaving Wolves then the 20-year-old is going to face the same problem at Molineux.
