It’s just five games into the season and Real Madrid are already dealing with a lot of injury problems. Now, things have gone from bad to worse because Brahim Diaz has sustained a blow.

Brahim Diaz picked up a thigh injury during Madrid’s 2-0 win over Real Sociedad at the weekend and the club has revealed that he is going to be on the sidelines for some time.

“After the tests carried out today to our player Brahim Díaz by the Medical Services of Real Madrid, he has been diagnosed with an injury in the abductor longus of the right leg,” the club said in an official statement on Sunday.

An abductor injury means Brahim Diaz is going to be out of action for around two months and during this time, the attacker is going to miss some very important games.

Towards the end of this month, Madrid will face Atletico Madrid and in October, Los Blancos are scheduled to take on Barcelona in the La Liga and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. And by the looks of it, the Moroccan international is going to miss all these matches.

Real Madrid are already without key players like Camavinga, David Alaba and Dani Ceballos and now this fresh injury to Brahim Diaz will be a nightmare for Carlo Ancelotti.

Diaz’s injury means Real Madrid are running short on attackers and currently, 18-year-old Endrick is the only backup available to all the regular starters. Brahim Diaz is a great luxury to have off the bench because he has made 2 goal contributions in 5 league appearances this season and there’s no way Endrick will have the same impact.

Also, the 25-year-old’s absence means the Madrid manager will have to revert to a 4-3-3 system which means Jude Bellingham will have to play in a slightly more central role.

Carlo Ancelotti will just be praying that none of his other forwards pick up an injury in the coming weeks because if someone like Vinicius Jr or Mbappe were to sustain a knock then the season will well and truly be over for Real Madrid.
