Evan Ferguson wanted by Man United and Chelsea Brighton and Hove Albion

According to a report in the Mirror, Brighton and Hove Albion have joined Southampton in the race to sign Manchester United full-back, Brandon Williams.

Brandon Williams broke into the first XI under Solskjaer and last season, he was out on loan to Norwich City, playing 29 games for the Canaries.

He had shown a lot of promise when he first came into the senior side in 2019 but much like the recent academy talent, Williams hasn’t been able to peak in time.

The Saints tried to sign the 21-year-old last year as well and they will try once again this summer. Now, in the latest update, Brighton have also registered an interest in the left-back because they are likely to lose Marc Cucurella to Manchester City.

Will Man United agree to sell Brandon Williams?

Williams did not have the best of loan spells with Norwich and now that Manchester United have signed Malacia, the academy graduate has fallen further down the pecking order.

Malacia has been impressive during the pre-season games but unfortunately for Brandon Williams, he has been out with an injury.

The rumours suggest that Erik ten Hag does not view the youngster in his future plans and if a club is ready to pay around £15m then Manchester United will let him leave.

Which club is more likely to sign Brandon Williams?

The Saints had tried to sign him on loan last summer and they are now looking to bring him on board in a permanent deal. However, we think Brighton stand a better chance should they be able to sell Marc Cucurella.

Cucurella is really keen to join Man City and once he moves out, Brighton will have no issues in financing a move for Brandon Williams.

The Seagulls are not in any mood to fast-track this deal as they are now waiting to see what happens with their own left-back.
