Bruno Fernandes has been the star player for Manchester United ever since he joined the club and he was the standout player for United once again as they beat City 2-0 in the derby.

The playmaker provided yet another assist for his new side, this time setting up Anthony Martial for Man United’s first goal and if that was not enough, he chose to ‘shush’ Guardiola and gestured him to calm down during the second half of the match.

The incident though was missed during the game but after the final whistle, it has become the rage on social media and right now people are busy taking sides.

Some people(mostly Man United fans) claim that Bruno Fernandes has brought back the swagger and intensity with which their players once took the pitch. But then there are others who are angry with the new arrival claiming the Portuguese should not have insulted a great manager like Pep Guardiola.

But when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was asked about the confrontation, the Norwegian chose to back his newest superstar – not directly of course.

“You need character here, you need character at this club,” Solskjaer said when asked directly about Fernandes’ confrontation with Guardiola, via Independent.

“This team, they have got that. They have learned through some hard times this season. We have been a young team and we have started something we believe in. Bruno has helped that.

“It is a privilege to have players like this, the commitment, the desire, the humility to know they have to work their socks off. It is what the fans love about these players.

“Off the ball, defensively we did excellent. Counter attacking was excellent.

“We would like to keep the ball more and keep them running more but when you get the 1-0, we still created big enough chances to win more but David make saves. We still had chances.”

In just five outings in the Premier League Bruno Fernandes has managed to rake up two goals and three assists for his new side and if can maintain this form for the remainder of the season then surely, Manchester United will be heading back to the Champions League next campaign.
