Arsenal signing William Saliba has received great praise from his current teammate and former PSG man Yohan Cabaye.

The Gunners had signed Saliba from St Etienne during the last summer transfer window for a fee of around €30 million but the defender was immediately loaned back to his former club for the whole of the current season.

And now that his time of permanently moving to the Emirates is coming closer, his current teammate, Yohan Cabaye has showered praises on William Saliba also claiming that Arsenal is a great club for budding French talent.

He said: “He’s like a big man. He’s only 18, but he’s like a big man. The way he plays, him and Wesley Fofana are fantastic.

“The future looks bright for them and I hope they continue in the same way. He’s strong and hopefully, he will adapt himself really quickly.

“In a club like Arsenal with French players, I think he can do really well.”

Arsenal have a host of defenders amongst their ranks right now but clearly none of them have had the desired impact as they have looked really fragile especially against the bigger sides.

But all this could change once William Saliba arrives at the club during the summer.

The 18-year-old is held in high regards in France and Arsenal beat a number of clubs in order to get the signature of the youngster.

Arsenal have brought in two defenders during the January transfer window but initially, there were reports of the Gunners trying to bring cancel William Saliba’s loan deal and bring him to England earlier. But obviously that arrangement did not materialize and the centre-back will only arrive in the summer.
