Chelsea will become a formidable force in Europe if they can acquire the services of Erling Haaland during the summer, that’s according to Micah Richards.

The Premier League side have been improving in leaps and bounds under their new manager and according to the pundit, Chelsea will become genuine title contenders if they can manage to bring in the Norwegian superstar from Borussia Dortmund.

“I think they’ve got absolutely everything,” Richards told the BBC this weekend, as per TEAMtalk.

“They’ve sorted their defensive problems. The only thing to add that little bit of icing to the cake would be a striker. They’ve put [Timo] Werner in there, they’ve put [Kai] Havertz in there.

“It seems like they’ve not really cracked that offensive aspect of the game. I’m not going to speculate. If you put Haaland in this team, they’ll be scary next season.”

Obviously, Chelsea aren’t the only club that are being linked with a move for Erling Haaland in the summer. And to be fair, the Blues are not even amongst the favourites. Roman Abramovich has money to spare and that’s about the only thing in favour of Chelsea right now.

Clubs like Real Madrid and PSG stand a much better chance at signing the centre-forward and according to various reports in Europe, Haaland would want to join Real Madrid if he does decide to leave Germany at the end of this season.

Man City and Man United are also amongst the suitors so while Erling Haaland will undoubtedly improve Chelsea’s shots at winning the domestic title but they will have to fend off a whole lot of clubs if they wish to land him.

Timo Werner, Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud have all failed to become a constant figure up front for the Blues this season so there’s no doubt that Tuchel will look to bring in a centre-forward during the summer.

But frankly, there’s very little chance that Erling Haaland will be that man.
