Karim Benzema is set to leave Real Madrid and according to German outlet Bild, Chelsea’s Kai Havertz could replace the Frenchman.

The No 9 has been prolific at the Bernabeu but his exit will leave a massive void in Madrid’s attack which means the Spanish giants will have to bring in a world-class striker before the next season kicks off.

Kai Havertz has two more years left on his current contract with Chelsea and he’s currently valued at €60 million but according to the rumours, the Blues want to make a profit from his sale.

They had paid around €80 million for the German back in 2020 and if these reports are true then Boehly will only sell if Madrid are offering more than what they had splashed.

Chelsea have a massive squad so they will definitely sell some players to balance their books and because Pochettino is looking to sign a new striker, Kai Havertz is of no use to the new manager.

Can Kai Havertz be a good replacement for Benzema?

Karim Benzema spent years 13 years with Real Madrid, playing close to 650 matches and scoring 354 goals so it will be nearly impossible to replace him.

Kai Havertz was a sensation at Leverkusen, scoring 46 and assisting 31 goals in just 150 games for the German side but the striker has not been able to keep up the same pace in the Premier League.

He’s started 30 league games this season but has scored only seven goals and it will be very hard to digest that he will be the direct replacement for someone like Karim Benzema.

Ability-wise, Havertz will be a major gamble but we can see why Madrid are going after him. Chelsea will have a mass exodus this summer and for the right money, most of their misfits will be up for sale.

Romelu Lukaku will be coming back from his loan spell plus Pochettino will be getting a new striker which means if Real Madrid can offer the right amount then the EPL club will not hesitate to offload him.

Kai Havertz won’t be the only striker that Real Madrid will be looking at this summer but the 23-year-old could be the easiest transfer of the lot.
