Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of Yves Bissouma and now they have set their sights on Argentinian international Lautaro Martinez.

Inter are in desperate need of funds which is why they will have to sell one or two of their biggest assets which is why Tottenham are now ready to test their resolve.

According to journalist Alfredo Pedullà, Tottenham Hotspur are preparing a gigantic bid of £77 million for Lautaro Martinez.

After Romelu Lukaku’s exit, Martinez is the star forward for Inter but owing to their massive cash crunch the Serie A side might have to part ways with him.

Will Spurs be able to sign Lautaro Martinez?

The combination of Antonio Conte and Champions League is working wonders for Spurs as they have already signed Ivan Perisic and Bissouma and maybe Lautaro Martinez is going to be their next big acquisition.

Daniel Levy is seriously backing his manager with the necessary funds and if the Premier League side do make a formal bid for £77 million then Inter will find it almost impossible to look the other way.

At Spurs, Lautaro Martinez will be competing with the likes of Son and Harry Kane but the chance to play under his former manager might be too hard for him to resist. Also, Inter are badly in need of funds meaning they will sell to whichever side offers the most money.

Will Lautaro Martinez help Spurs go face-to-face with Man City and Liverpool?

Antonio Conte has taken very little time to get Spurs back into the Champions League and he’s determined to turn the club into proper title contenders by the end of this transfer window.

The Italian knows very well what type of players he wants in his side and most importantly, he has the backing of chairman Daniel Levy.

This season, the gap between the top-two and the rest of the top-six sides was massive but if Antonio Conte can get Lautaro Martinez on board there’s every chance that Tottenham will be able to challenge the big boys.

Lautaro Martinez scored 17 goals in the 2020/21 season and this season, he’s netted 21 goals in 35 league matches for Inter. Club this up with the killer instincts of Kane and Son and both Liverpool and Manchester City will have a lot to fear for.

Martinez is someone who has no issues in partnering up with his fellow forwards and since he’s already worked under Conte, the Argentine will take no time to settle down at the club.

Antonio Conte is a serial winner and if he is given all the ammunition then the Italian has what it takes to rattle a few feathers at the top of the table. Even if Tottenham don’t win the Premier League this coming season, a top-two finish will be nothing short of a miracle as compared to how badly they were struggling under Jose and Nuno.
