Man City have dropped points at the most crucial moment as they have failed to beat Crystal Palace meaning Liverpool have the opportunity to move within one point of the league leaders.

Guardiola did put out a strong side on Monday but surprisingly, the Man City boss did not make even a single substitution during the 90 minutes. Players like Sterling, Jesus and Gundogan all remain unused while the likes of Foden and Mahrez were visibly poor on the pitch.

The Spaniard though has chosen to put up a brave face by claiming that he has no regrets and has also backed his players’ performances.

“I think they [Palace] played good,” he told Sky Sports after the game, as quoted.

“There are still many games to play, we have to win a lot of games but the way we played, there are no regrets about the team. We would have preferred to win of course but the game was well played.

“We played to win the game; we created more. The way we played was amazing in a difficult stadium with the grass not perfect.

“The guys who were playing were playing good, that’s why I didn’t make changes. We didn’t score, that was the mistake.”

Can Liverpool capitalise by beating Arsenal on Wednesday?

Liverpool need to beat Arsenal at the Emirates to get within touching distance of Manchester City but we have a feeling that Klopp’s side will falter as well.

The Reds will go to London knowing that they need a win but such a result will not be easy against this Arsenal side. The Gunners are in peak form right now and with games in hand, Mikel Arteta’s side will have nothing to fear.

A loss in this match will not be too big a blow for Arsenal so they can afford to be risky. Last week, Inter played a bold and attacking game against Liverpool in the 2nd leg and Inzaghi’s side ended up winning that tie 1-0.

Arsenal have won their previous five league outings and if they can find their rhythm quick enough then there’s every chance of an upset on Wednesday night. To be honest, the kind of form that the Gunners are in right now, we can’t even call this one an upset.
