Harry Kane playing for England Bayern Munich

Manchester City are planning to make a big splash in the transfer market this summer and they have already made their intentions pretty clear by making a formal move for Harry Kane.

Last week Guardiola’s side had made a staggering £100m bid for the England striker only for Tottenham Hotspur to knock it back.

Sky Sports claimed: “Manchester City have made a £100m bid for Tottenham striker Harry Kane. City are open to including players in addition to the cash offer, but Tottenham are expected to reject the bid.

“Kane is valued at upwards of £120m and Tottenham are keen to keep him despite the 27-year-old believing he has a gentleman’s agreement with Daniel Levy.”

And within days of this news breaking, it’s being claimed that Manchester City are willing to spend another £100 million on Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish.

Recent reports have suggested that Manchester City are confident of signing the England playmaker in a £100m deal once the European Championship is over.

But according to Fabrizio Romano, the deal is not as close as it seems.

The transfer expert has claimed that no talks have been held between Villa and Spurs till date but nonetheless, the Etihad outfit remain interested in signing both Harry Kane and Jack Grealish.

On Saturday he wrote on Twitter: “There’s still nothing advanced or agreed for Jack Grealish. Manchester City are strongly interested in signing him but NO talks ongoing with Aston Villa, as of today.

“Man City board considers ‘complicated’ to sign both Grealish and Kane [Spurs refused opening bid].”

Romano in a follow-up tweet has claimed that Manchester City are finding it really hard to pursue the two players since both of them are busy with England in the Euros which is why they have decided to pause their interest for now.

He wrote: “Manchester City will make final decision on Jack Grealish and Harry Kane negotiations after the Euros. Both English players are considered ‘top targets’ but nothing is happening while they’re focused on Euro 2020.”

Man City feel signing both Kane and Grealish is not going to burden them financially but we doubt if Daniel Levy will cave in.

Aston Villa though are ready to offload Jack Grealish if a club is willing to meet their demands so we don’t think they will stop the England international from moving out if Manchester City are paying £100 million for him.

Things will not be so straightforward in terms of Harry Kane with Levy not willing to budge but we feel the English champions were just testing the waters with their first official bid.

It’s an open secret that City have the financial might to sign both the England stars. Now the only thing they need to do is to convince their rivals to part ways with their most valued asset.
