Southampton have already made four signings this summer and according to talkSPORT, the Saints are planning to bring two Liverpool players onboard.
Metro cites the report: “Southampton are reportedly keen on signing Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on a season-long loan, ten years after he left the Saints.
“According to talkSPORT, Southampton believe that Liverpool are open to offloading Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has struggled with injuries during his time at Anfield.
“The Saints had Liverpool winger Takumi Minamino on loan last season and it is understood that they have also made enquires about his availability.”
Can Southampton sign both Minamino and Oxlade-Chamberlain?
Oxlade-Chamberlain is not a regular first-team player for Liverpool but since the Reds are yet to bring in a new central midfielder, it will be hard for Southampton to convince Jurgen Klopp to agree on a loan deal.
But Jurgen Klopp has hinted that Liverpool are planning to bring in some new signings before deadline day and if one of them is a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum then there’s every chance that Oxlade-Chamberlain will be allowed to go out on loan.

As far as Minamino is concerned, he has turned out to be a failed project at Anfield and he spent the second half of the 2020/21 season on loan to Southampton.
And now that the Saints are ready to take him back, Ralph Hasenhuttl must have been really impressed with what he saw last time around.
We are not sure about Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain but if Southampton push for Minamino they can very easily secure another loan deal for the Japanese.
