It came as a shock to many people when Carlo Ancelotti decided to take charge of Premier League side Everton back in 2019 and after just 67 games in charge, the Italian looks all set to make bigger news by moving out.
Real Madrid have just parted ways with Zinedine Zidane and according to various rumours, Florentino Perez has been looking at Carlo Ancelotti to make comeback to the club. The Italian spent two years at the Bernabeu, featuring in the dugout for 119 games.
And now in an almost official confirmation, football expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti have agreed on the terms meaning the Italian is set to return to the Bernabeu.
He wrote on Facebook: “Carlo Ancelotti is set to come back at Real Madrid.
“The agreement on the termination of his contract with Everton is set to be completed, the two clubs are in direct contact then Carlo will re-join Real Madrid.
“Official announcement expected as soon as the termination of the agreement with Everton will be signed.
“Ancelotti won’t create any problem on his personal terms with Real Madrid and he’s ready to come back.”
This will come as a huge setback for the Everton management who were making some long-term plans keeping Carlo Ancelotti in mind. But it’s clear that the 61-year-old just could not resist the temptation of heading back to Real Madrid.
Everton finished 10th on the Premier League table meaning they will not be playing in Europe next season. So we can understand why Ancelotti chose to ditch his Everton project and head back to Spain without giving it a second thought.
Everton though are wasting no time sulking over this news as they have already made a move to find the apt replacement for the Italian and right now, they are being linked with a host of big names.
