Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have set a deadline day for Celtic FC to be able to secure a permanent transfer for Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Carter-Vickers has been with Celtic on a loan deal and the Bhoys are eager to sign him on a permanent deal during the coming months. A deal is inevitable but now all of a sudden Spurs have told the SPFL side to hurry up the process.

The defender has been one of the key players for Celtic this season and since he has no future at Spurs, even CCV is ready to remain in Scotland for the upcoming campaigns. In this campaign, he has played 33 Premiership games for the club and has a rating of 7.75 out of 10.

Why has Tottenham set a deadline?

Celtic will have to shell out £6million for the defender, a fee which the Glasgow side is ready to pay but as per the latest reports, Everton and Fulham have shown an interest in Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Up until now, the Bhoys were the only side who wanted to sign the centre-back but now the two English sides have also registered an interest.

Everton have avoided relegation and even Fulham have moved back into the Premier League so both of them are looking to bring in reinforcements for the 22/23 campaign. Spurs will have no problem in letting CCV remain in England but since there is already have a buy-option in the loan deal, they want Celtic to activate it before July 15.

What should Celtic do regarding this deadline?

Well, it’s obviously a no-brainer that Celtic should act quickly and secure a permanent deal for Cameron Carter-Vickers.

The manager has prominent plans for him next season and even he is willing to play in Scotland(up until now). Everton and Fulham have not yet made contact so Celtic will have to move quickly.

Both the clubs are in the Premier League so Cameron Carter-Vickers will be able to play in the England top-tier and if even one of them can guarantee him regular playing time next season then the American might very well snub a return at Celtic.
