Celtic FC suffered a 1-0 loss at the hands of Rangers FC on Sunday and this defeat means the Bhoys are now sixth on the Scottish Premiership table.

A loss to their arch-rivals is surely a bitter pill to swallow but Callum McGregor is not ready to hit the panic button just yet, claiming that they can still turn things around.

Celtic have now suffered two losses in their first four league outings and according to the skipper, they will need to find a killer instinct to turn the tide.

McGregor told The Scottish Sun: “There were chances in the game for us. Kyogo has a chance. The second one he pulls across when he could maybe have a shot.

“So for us to come and create chances and dominate the ball shows we are moving in the right direction.

“We lose the goal in the set-play, so there is enough for us to build on and that is what we have to do.

“We are a relatively young team, so we have to learn from that. You’re always disappointed to lose derby matches, but I think we showed enough in the game that we could win it or at least get a draw.

“We have to learn from that experience. You dominate the ball and play well enough to win, but ultimately you lose on a set-piece and it hurts.

“But there is a lot of football to be played, three more derbies coming up in the league, so we have the chance to put it right.”

The Scottish Premiership is a league of very small margin and only a couple of matches in the season decide the fate of many teams. So manager Ange Postecoglou will not have the luxury of time to make things right.

The international break has come at the perfect time for the Celtic boss to review his tactics and make the necessary changes since the Hoops will be involved in the Europa League right after the break.

After a game against Ross County on the 11th of September, Celtic will take on Real Betis in the UEL and from that point onwards they will have to function in top gear for the remainder of the campaign.
