Looks like Manchester City have finally decided to cash in on Gabriel Jesus but they have offered the forward’s services to Chelsea, as per the Telegraph(h/t Metro).

This is a bit of a shocker because Arsenal have been trying to sign the City forward for a couple of weeks now but up until now, Man City have been reluctant to sell him.

However, when they have gone and decided to offload him, the Etihad outfit have decided to knock on Chelsea’s door rather than Arsenal’s.

Apart from Arsenal, three or four other clubs are also interested in signing Gabriel Jesus and one of those is Real Madrid. Madrid are the latest entrant in the race but Man City have still chosen to offer the forward to Chelsea.

Why have Man City offered Jesus to Chelsea and not the others?

We can think of two major reasons why Man City have snubbed Arsenal and the other suitors. The first one is probably the Gunners’ lack of funds.

Arsenal had already made a bid for Jesus but that figure was £10 million less than what Manchester City are now demanding. City will reportedly let the forward leave for £50 million but Arsenal’s first formal offer was around £40 million.

Also, since Arsenal will be playing in the Europa League next season, they are working on a tight transfer budget but money won’t be a problem for Chelsea because their new owner will back them fully in the transfer market.

Thomas Tuchel is going to have a £200 million budget to revamp the squad meaning paying £50-55 million won’t be a problem for the Blues.

The second reason why Man City might have offered Jesus’ services to Chelsea and not to a club like Real Madrid is that as per reports, Gabriel Jesus wants to remain in the Premier League.

Maybe, City have considered this wish and chose not to officially inform Real Madrid of the player’s availability.

Will Chelsea bring Gabriel Jesus on board or will Arsenal challenge them?

Chelsea’s interest in the Brazilian has kept on growing in recent days and this only means Timo Werner will be put up for sale.

Thomas Tuchel reportedly wants to bring in a more agile centre-forward and someone like Gabriel Jesus will be a great fit. According to the rumours, the Blues are in the process of making a formal bid.

Arsenal need to sign a new striker at any cost so there’s no way they will give up hopes on the Man City man. We don’t think Edu and Mikel Arteta will shy away from increasing their offer by £10 million meaning Chelsea won’t have it easy bringing Gabriel Jesus on board.
