Chelsea FC have decided to cancel their victory parade which was supposed to be held on Sunday. This comes in the wake of the Manchester Arena bombings.

Chelsea were supposed to have a victory parade on Sunday for their emphatic title win. This was scheduled to be held a day after they play Arsenal in the FA Cup finals.

But the club has decided to cancel the ceremony due to the Manchester bombing. The tragic incident on Monday saw atleast 22 people killed and 64 people injured. The Chelsea players will also wear black armbands in the memory of the victims who have lost their lives in the tragic incident.

The club said in a statement: “Everyone associated with Chelsea Football Club offers out heartfelt condolences to those affected by Monday’s terror attack in Manchester. Our thoughts go out to all the victims, and their families and friends.”

“In the light of these tragic events, we feel it is inappropriate to go ahead with the victory parade in London on Sunday”

Arsenal also follow the same path as Chelsea:

Arsenal were also scheduled to hold a screening of the FA Cup final at the Emirates Stadium. But now they have cancelled the plans.

There will also be no victory parade if Arsenal do manage to win Saturday’s encounter with Chelsea.
