Chelsea beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in the Premier League on Saturday and speaking after the game, defender Antonio Rudiger chose to show his discontent.

Spurs’ only goal in the match came via Antonio Rudiger after the ball took a wicked deflection from his legs and completely wrong-footed Willy Caballero.

But the German defender was speaking about how the police and the Spurs authorities had failed to recognise the culprits who had hurled racial abuses at him during the previous London derby in December.

Antonio Rudiger claimed he was racially abused but the police decided to close the case after they failed to find any evidence of such wrongdoing.

“The police have notified us today that, having reviewed and investigated, they have closed the crime report as they can find no evidence to support the allegation of racial abuse,” a statement from Tottenham read via Goal.com.

“We fully support Antonio Rudiger with the action that he took – however there is no evidence to corroborate or contradict the allegation and as such neither ourselves nor the police are in a position to take any further action.”

And speaking after the game on Saturday, the defender claimed that in the end, racism was the winner.

“Racism has won,” the defender told Sky Sport.

“It shows that these people won because they can go back to the stadium. They won’t be punished and at the end of the day I’m the bogeyman.

“It is not that I give up or no longer raise my voice. I will always raise my voice, but I am alone in this regard.

“Everyone should look at their own house, because when I was racially insulted in Italy, I always heard: ‘In Italy this is normal.’ Everyone should start with themselves at home and then talk about others. No country has anything under control.

“There is support, but words and deeds are different. At the end of the day anyone can say: ‘I’m sorry!’ But only those who share the same fate as me can understand.

“I could make an Instagram or Twitter post but what good would that do? At the end of the day you are alone.”

Verdict on Antonio Rudiger claims:

After the incident, Antonio Rudiger found unprecedented support but when nothing of such sort came to light many people had started wondering if the defender merely heard something totally different and misjudged it for racial abuses.

But then, this is not the first time that a London club has been caught in such a whirlwind so naturally, it is hard to believe that that particular section of the Spurs home crowd was completely clean. Maybe it’s just a case that no proper evidence has been found to nab the culprit.
