Chelsea beat Fulham 2-0 in the English Premier League this weekend and despite this emphatic performance, all eyes were on Mason Mount who was taken off with a slight knock.

Mount had another brilliant outing on Saturday and the midfielder also provided a key assist during the match. But he was replaced in the 76th minute by Tammy Abraham, shortly after a collision with Mario Lemina.

And just as he was walking off the pitch, Mason Mount was seen holding his back.

This immediately sent panic waves amongst the Chelsea supporters since the Blues have a really important game against Real Madrid coming up next week and Mount happens to be a key player for Thomas Tuchel.

But, speaking after the match, the manager doused all fears claiming Mount’s knock is not too serious. The manager has also revealed that Antonio Rudiger should be available for selection while he’s also keeping his hopes up for Mateo Kovacic.

The manager said after the Fulham game: “I hope really that Mason [Mount] is not a big thing and hopefully he can fully recover for Real Madrid

“I think [Antonio Rudiger] can play with a mask and everybody else who was on the bench can be totally fit for Wednesday. Hopefully, we can have the full squad.

“Mateo [Kovacic] may be too close but we have hopes.”

Chelsea and Real Madrid drew the first leg 1-1 so the fact that players like Mount and Kovacic are fit and available, it’s a huge boost for manager Thomas Tuchel.

Rudiger has been a mainstay in the Chelsea backline under the new manager and his return will also strengthen the defence of the Premier League side. The German international will replace Kurt Zouma in the starting line-up while Christensen and Thiago Silva will keep their place.

Mateo Kovacic has been on the sidelines for a few games but the pairing of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho have done more than a perfect job in midfield.

These two(especially Kante) were brilliant against Real Madrid in the first leg and Thomas Tuchel will be hoping that they can replicate the same performance this week as well.
