Chelsea will face Manchester United in midweek and they will be without defender Benoit Badiashile in this match.

The centre-back sustained a groin injury which kept him out of the Manchester City match and now fresh reports are suggesting that the injury is serious.

Last week, Frank Lampard had said: ‘Benoit injured himself in training two days ago, his groin, and will miss the game. We’re assessing that now as we speak.’

It’s being claimed that his groin injury will need surgery and he will be on the sidelines for around four months. If this timeline is true then he will miss the summer training sessions as well as some part of the next season.

The injury list keeps getting longer and longer for Chelsea but thankfully, Koulibaly has returned from his injury and he will come straight into the side on Thursday.

Badiashile is the 10th addition to Chelsea’s injury list with key players like Mount, Kante and Reece James already on the sidelines.

All three full-backs are also injured and neither of them will be available for the next two matches.

Man United need only a point from their remaining two matches to be able to finish in the top four but Chelsea have only pride to play for.

They are currently 12th on the Premier League table and their hopes of returning to the top half of the table have faded away as well. Even if they pick up maximum points they will be below Fulham but if they suffer two losses then Wolves could move above them.

The London side will be getting a new manager so all the players should use this match as a platform to showcase their talents for the incoming boss.
