Just last year Bayern Munich fought heavily against Manchester United in order to bring Portuguese sensation Renato Sanches to the Allianz Arena. But the past season has been anything but great for the 19-year-old. The former Benfica man has not only failed to carve out a niche for himself in the first team but has also struggled to get proper game time.

And now Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti has decided to offload the player during this transfer window.

Ancelotti said, “If he stays, I’m satisfied. If he goes, it’s okay no problem,”

These words from the Bayern boss has raised the hopes for a couple of Premier League clubs who had wished to sign Sanches earlier. Reports have it that Manchester United and Jose Mourinho have dropped their interest in their player and will not be going after him. And so Chelsea and Liverpool are now running a two horse race to the finish line.

Antonio Conte is itching to bring in reinforcements to Stamford Bridge and reports have it that the club is pretty close to signing Alex Oxlade Chamberlain from Arsenal. But with Renato Sanches available in the transfer market, we highly doubt if the Italian will let this golden opportunity pass him by.

Liverpool, on the other hand, have been chasing midfielder Naby Keita for ages now but that deal is far off from a realistic possibility. And Renato Sanches will certainly serve a fine replacement for the Leipzig player.
