It was a day that started well and ended even better for the visiting side. Alvaro Morata gave Chelsea the lead within 90 seconds and Pedro doubled the advantage before half time with a sumptuous finish.

Chelsea were nervy for most periods of the game but Alvaro Morata bagged two more goals after the introduction of Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas to add shine to the scoreline and ensure that Blues returned with maximum points.

Here are the Chelsea players ratings vs Stoke City:

Thibaut Courtois – 6.5/10

Took a nasty fall in the second half but came out unscathed. Not troubled by the Stoke side directly.

Cesar Azpilicueta – 8/10

Superb game for the Spaniard once again. Provided two assists and slotted in as left wing-back effectively for the final 30 minutes.

Andreas Christensen – 7/10

Looked calm and composed, unlike the erratic David Luiz. Dealt with Stoke’s pressure extremely maturely and held on to his clean sheet.

Antonio Rudiger – 7/10

Battled really well for the ball and put in another impressive performance especially in the first half. Looks like a great signing.

Victor Moses – 6.5/10

Did not do much to keep Zappacosta out for long. Saw a lot of the ball but was caught out defensively several times.

Tiemoue Bakayoko – 7/10

Lost the ball many times in the opening stages of the game but improved as the game progressed. Looked more comfortable with Fabregas in the fray. Made an excellent last-ditch tackle to stop a goal and even stole the ball for Chelsea’s third.

N’Golo Kante – 8/10

Once again showed that he runs the show in the midfield with an absolutely stellar performance. Winning everything, creating chances and covering for his defenders well.

Marcos Alonso – 6/10

Disappointing on the left and often got caught out of position by Diouf. Attacking as well he didn’t do a great amount with the ball. Unbelievably lost his head in the second half and almost got two yellow cards in the space of two minutes. Rightly subbed off.

Willian – 4/10

Absolute shocker for the Brazilian. Some poor passing coupled with dreadful dribbling. Surely he will be contemplating what went wrong for him.

Alvaro Morata – 9.5/10

First hat-trick of his Chelsea career and what a way to get it. Troubled Stoke’s backline with his pace and worked excellently with Fabregas and Hazard late in the game. Truly stunning.

Pedro – 7/10

A wonderful finish for his goal, but apart from that didn’t really offer a lot more. Can’t take away that finish though.

Substitutes:

Gary Cahill – 6.5/10

Came on for Alonso and soaked the pressure well for the Blues.

Cesc Fabregas – 8/10

His crisp passing and excellent vision changed the pace of the game in favour of the Blues.

Eden Hazard – 7/10

Showed some nice piece of skills after coming on. Definitely, starts every game from here on.
