Chelsea have finally managed to pick up a win as they beat Leeds United at the weekend and Graham Potter will be hoping his side have picked up enough momentum to overcome Borussia Dortmund’s challenge.

The Blues trail 1-0 from the first leg and they will now host the German side in the second round of the Round of 16. The win vs Leeds will give Chelsea much-needed confidence but on Tuesday, they will need a lot more than spirit to progress to the next round.

Dortmund have won their last 12 matches plus they are unbeaten in eight away games. The Germans are in top form and their win against Leipzig has put them level on points with Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich.

Chelsea need to dig deep in order to turn things around this week but frankly speaking, we don’t think Graham Potter’s players have what it takes to beat Dortmund. Leeds United are 17th on the Premier League table and have won just five league games this season but BVB are a totally different beast.

Chelsea’s team news, tactics and injuries:

The injury list remains long for the Blues manager and the biggest blow will be the absence of his leader Thiago Silva. Silva has suffered ligament damage in his knee so he is going to miss out.

Wesley Fofana was the star of the show at the weekend and Potter will be hoping that the defender can display the same level of performance in the second leg as well.

Potter used a three-man defensive line against Leeds and we think he will stick to the same formation against Dortmund. Reece James should be fit in time to play on Tuesday and if he is available then he come straight into the starting line up.

Edouard Mendy, Azpilicueta, N’Golo Kante and Armando Broja are all out injured while Mason Mount is going to miss out due to a suspension. Mount’s form has dipped in recent weeks so he isn’t going to be badly missed.

Kovacic and Fernandes paired up in central midfield against Leeds and the same duo will take the field on Tuesday as well.

In the 3-4-3 system, Joao Felix was deployed on the left wing with Raheem Sterling playing on the right-hand side and we think the Chelsea boss is not going to tinker with this formation.

Chelsea predicted line up vs Borussia Dortmund:

Predicted Starting XI(3-4-3): Kepa; Badiashile, Koulibaly, Fofana; Enzo Fernandez, Kovacic, Chilwell, Reece James; Joao Felix, Havertz, Sterling.
