The build-up to the FA Cup final is not going well for Chelsea as they dropped points yet again, this time due to a 2-2 draw against Wolves. Wolves equalized in the 97th-minute and these two dropped points mean Arsenal are now breathing down their necks.

Chelsea are running the risk of losing their third spot on the Premier League table because Arsenal are just one point away from them so they will, at any cost, have to win against Leeds United on Wednesday night.

The Blues have to play in the FA Cup final on Saturday so it won’t be a surprise if Thomas Tuchel chooses to rest several of his regular starters at Elland Road. Leeds are not in the brightest of forms right now so getting around them shouldn’t be too complex a task.

Chelsea team news vs Leeds United:

Surprisingly, Chelsea haven’t won in their last three outings so Tuchel will have to be very cautious with how he selects his starting XI.

Christensen was back on the bench for the Wolves game and we expect him to get a start in place of Azpilicueta on Wednesday night.

Jorginho and N’Golo Kante are both in the running to make a comeback this week but we don’t think either of them will be risked before the FA Cup final against Liverpool. Tuchel will need both Kante and Jorginho in midfield for the final so Kovacic and Loftus-Cheek will pair up in the middle of the pitch once again.

Mason Mount was rested on Saturday so he should ideally come into the side this week. Using Mount before the final will be a risk though so Tuchel will have to be really attentive with whom he uses as his No 10 at Elland Road.

Hakim Ziyech and Pulisic are the other options to play in that role but since Ziyech is not apt at playing through the middle, Pulisic should be the one who starts – if Tuchel decides to keep Mount fresh for Wembley.

Lukaku scored a brace against Wolves and he found the back of the net after ages. The Belgian will never be in the side against Liverpool so he will lead the line on Wednesday night. Timo Werner had a muted outing though so he will likely be replaced by Kai Havertz.

Havertz has seen a slump in form at the worst possible time but he will any day make the cut ahead of Timo Werner.

Chelsea predicted line up vs Leeds United:

Predicted Starting Line up(3-4-1-2): Edouard Mendy; Rudiger, Thiago Silva, Christensen; Loftus-Cheek, Kovacic, Alonso, Reece James; Mount/Pulisic; Lukaku, Kai Havertz.
