Chelsea have been on a roll during the past couple of weeks but their confidence could very well be dented as they take on Manchester City in the Premier League next weekend.

The Blues started the season on a very poor note but since then they have been able to shift gears and have now managed to pick up five wins in a row in the league.

Their confidence is now at an all-time high and given that City have just been jolted with a 3-1 loss by Liverpool, there’s every chance that Chelsea too can manage to pick up all three points vs the defending champions this weekend.

While Lampard will surely take his team to the Etihad thinking they can win but beating Pep Guardiola’s side at home needs precise computations and given that the Blues have such a young side, it will certainly be an uphill task.

Chelsea team news vs Man City:

Kurt Zouma and Tomori have been rock solid in defence and with Antonio Rudiger still out of action, the pair will surely start in central defence vs Man City.

But these two have to really be on their toes given Man City will be looking to get things back on track after that embarrassing loss to Liverpool.

Reece James was superb vs Palace but Azpilicueta will surely return to the first XI this weekend and will reclaim his right-back role on Saturday.

Emerson seems to have moved up the pecking order under Frank Lampard and the Italian is right now the first choice left-back for Chelsea which means Marcos Alonso will once again start on the bench.

N’Golo Kante returned to the first XI vs the Eagles but Lampard did not have any troubles since Jorginho was suspended for this match. But now that the Italian will also be returning, it will be interesting to see how the manager sets up his midfield.

We believe Kovacic will remain in the line-up while Mason Mount will be deployed in an attacking role and will most probably play down the right-wing vs City.

This would also mean Christian Pulisic will move to the bench and this will be really hard on the American since the has finally started to get back his form for which he was signed from Dortmund.

Willian has also finally hit peak form this season and the Brazilian is undoubtedly a guaranteed starter vs City on Saturday.

Tammy Abraham has been the first choice striker for Lampard but we feel the England international might not get to play the full 90 minutes vs City since if the Blues cannot get a march ahead of their rivals then Michy Batshuayi could be introduced sometime in the second half.

Chelsea’s predicted XI vs Man City:

Starting XI: Kepa Arizzabalaga; Zouma, Tomori, Azpilicueta, Emerson; Kante, Kovacic, Jorginho; Willian, Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham.
