Chelsea managed to pick up a narrow win during the weekend against Palace and now they must prep themselves up for a pivotal Champions League tie against Milan.
The Blues welcome the Serie A giants in their third group game and this is a must-win match for the Premier League side. While Milan are at the top of the table with four points, Chelsea are languishing at the bottom with just a single point against their name.
Chelsea are unbeaten in their previous seven home games but Milan have not tasted defeat in their last eight away trips. The win vs Palace was the first for Potter as the Blues boss and he will be hoping to pick up his first UCL win this weekend against the Serie A winners.
Milan will be coming to England with a long list of injuries so Chelsea are actually the favourites to pick up a win in this win. Their current form might not be the best but on paper, Chelsea have the players who can help secure all three points.
Chelsea’s team news vs Milan:
Edouard Mendy is still out with a knee injury so Kepa will hold onto his No 1 role.
Graham Potter has chosen to use a four-man back line with his new side and he should stick with the same in midweek as well.
Fofana and Thiago Silva are turning out to be a great pairing so there’s no way Potter is going to replace either one of them against Stefano Pioli’s side.
Cucurella missed the Palace game due to an illness but he’s returned to training this week and will be in contention to start. It will be interesting to see whom the manager chooses for the left-back role because Chilwell had a pretty solid outing against the Eagles.

Kante is ruled out with a thigh injury and now Jorginho is also likely to miss out after he picked up a knock during the weekend. Gallagher came off the bench to score the winning goal at the weekend so he’s the one who should be coming into midfield, in place of Jorginho.
Aubameyang also scored against Palace and he is obviously going to lead the line, alongside Havertz and Raheem Sterling.
Chelsea predicted line up vs Milan:
Predicted Starting XI(4-3-3): Kepa; Silva, Fofana, Reece James, Chilwell/Cucurella; Kovacic, Gallagher, Mason Mount; Havertz, Sterling, Aubameyang.
