Chelsea beat Barnsley in the 5th Round of the FA Cup and next up, they face Newcastle United in the Premier League on Monday night.

The Blues have gotten back to winning ways as Thomas Tuchel has taken charge of the side and going into this game, Chelsea have won their previous three league matches.

Newcastle United, on the other hand, are struggling in the bottom half of the table and right now they are 16th on the league table and have suffered losses in three of their previous five outings.

Tuchel had the chance to rest a few of his first-team players in midweek against Barnsley but almost all of them are going to come back into the side on Monday.

Chelsea team news vs Newcastle United:

Kepa played in goal in midweek but the Spanish keeper will make way for Edouard Mendy against Newcastle United on Monday.

Zouma and Emerson both got starts against Barnsley but regular defenders, Antonio Rudiger and Apzilicueta will come back into the side against the Magpies.

Thiago Silva is still recovering from a muscle injury and is not going to be available for selection for this week’s game.

N’Golo Kante will move back to the bench as Jorginho comes back into the side alongside Mateo Kovacic, a player who has become one of the first names on Tuchel’s teamsheet since he’s taken charge.

Kai Havertz is still recovering from a knock and he will go through a late fitness test to see if he’s ready for Monday’s game or not. If the German is not fit then Mason Mount will play in the attacking midfielder’s role.

Ben Chilwell is expected to replace Marcos Alonso as the left-wing back and Reece James is also going to come back into the side.

With James coming back into the starting line-up, Callum Hudson-Odoi will move further up the pitch and is likely play alongside Oliver Giroud up front.

Timo Werner is recovering from a dead-leg which is why he missed the FA Cup clash in midweek but the German will be fit in time for the Newcastle United game. If the forward is fully fit then he could play beside Hudson-Odoi in place of Giroud.

Christian Pulisic, Hakim ZIyech and Tammy Abraham all got starts in midweek but the trio is expected to return to the bench at Stamford Bridge on Monday.

Chelsea’s predicted line-up vs Newcastle United:

Predicted Line-up: Mendy; Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Christensen; Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, Ben Chilwell, Reece James, Mount/Havertz; Hudson-Odoi, Giroud/Timo Werner.
