Chelsea have signed so many new players during the January transfer window but still, they went ahead and drew 0-0 against Fulham in their last outing.

The Blues just cannot seem to get their act together and after the draw, Chelsea are now ninth on the league table with just 30 points against their name.

Despite spending so much money in the market, Chelsea have won just a single match out of their previous six Premier League matches and next up, they take on West Ham United, away from home. A loss in this match and all hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next campaign will more or less be over.

Liverpool and Aston Villa are breathing down Chelsea’s neck so anything other than a win could push them down to the second half of the table. The Blues have kept a clean sheet in their last 3 matches but it’s scoring goals that is turning out to be the problem for Potter’s side.

Chelsea’s team news vs West Ham United:

Graham Potter has to handle a plethora of players so selecting his best starting line up against the Hammers.

Reece James came back from an injury lay-off but he was really underwhelming against Fulham. The manager has Azpilicueta as a backup but James should hold onto his place on Saturday.

Mateo Kovacic and Kante are both out injured and this is a big cause of concern for Chelsea because the club have sold Jorginho to Arsenal. With all these experienced players missing, it was Enzo Fernandes and Gallagher who paired up in central midfield and they should take the field against West Ham as well.

Ziyech could not leave in January but he found a place in the first XI vs Fulham however the winger was very underwhelming. Noni Madueke had a much better impact coming off the bench and the 20-year-old is likely to replace Ziyech this weekend.

Mudryk was unwell which is why he was taken off at half-time during the weekend and it remains to be seen if he is ready to play against the Hammers as well.

“He’s had a heavy cold this week,” Potter said(h/t Goal). “He was feeling heavy legged at half-time and we didn’t want to take a chance with him, he is still in a process where we are building up his minutes because of the break he’s been on in Ukraine.”

If Mudryk is not fully fit in time then Raheem Sterling will come into the side and play on the left-hand side of attack.
