Chelsea upped their game against Liverpool in midweek, but still could not pick up a win. However, they will be hoping to turn the tide this weekend when they face Wolves.

Minus Graham Potter, the Blues really played some good and attractive football against Liverpool and if they can keep up the same tempo, they should be able to get back to winning ways at Molineux.

Chelsea have named Frank Lampard as their interim manager so the club legend will be in the dugout when the Blues take on Wolves.

Wolves have now won only one of their last seven games meaning they are now just a point above the relegation zone. Chelsea will go into this match as the favourites but they are finding it really hard to score goals and this could turn out to be their achilles heel once again.

Chelsea’s team news and injuries:

Cesar Azpilicueta has been unavailable after picking up a head injury against Southampton in February but he could return this weekend.

Thiago Silva and Armando Broja are going to miss out as they are long-term injuries.

Lampard’s return will be a massive boost for Mason Mount who has fallen down the pecking order at the club and is currently struggling to find game time.

In his first press conference, the interim boss talked about Mount and his importance to the team.

Frank told the press: ‘With Mason I know he’s had a few slight injury problems as I understand it. The important thing for me will be to talk to him and find out where he’s at but I know what I get from Mason.

‘So I just want to see him perform on the pitch and we have a good relationship so we’ll talk a lot. I think he’s a huge player for Chelsea and has been during his time here.’

With Lampard at the helm, we are likely to see a change in formation as well because the ex-England international usually plays with a conventional back-four.

It will be interesting to see which players get the nod and who falls down the pecking order this weekend.
