Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a move to sign Wigan Athletic left-back Antonee Robinson during the summer transfer window.
Robinson has come up through the Everton youth system having moved to the Championship before the start of the 2019-20 season.
This season, the full-back has caught the attention of a number of people and was expected to join AC Milan last month. But somehow the move did not go through and Antonee Robinson has stayed back at Wigan.
While most reports claim Milan will return back for the left-back at the end of the season but it seems like this they might face some stiff competition from Chelsea FC.
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is currently out in the market looking for a new left-back since Marcos Alonso has lost his touch while Emerson could very well move to Juventus during the next transfer window.
So in such a scenario, the Blues need to bring in a new left-back and as things stand 22-year-old Antonee Robinson could be that man.
As per reports, Wigan had accepted a £10 million deal for the sale of Antonee Robinson from AC Milan before the move collapsed and it seems they will be willing to let him leave for a similar price at the end of the season.
Robinson’s current deal with the Championship club expires in 2022 meaning Wigan are in no hurry to let him leave and this is why many experts feel the club could try and up the price for the defender now that Chelsea have joined the race to sign him.
While it remains to be seen whether to Blues will actually make a move for the left-back but we feel if Emerson is looking to head to Juventus then Lampard will surely go all out to bring Antonee Robinson in.
