Chelsea and London rivals Tottenham Hotspur have been handed some fresh news about Ross Barkley and it’s not pretty at all.

The Everton player has been wanting to move out of Goodison Park for quite some time now and as a result of which the English International has refused to sign a new contract. And as soon as Toffees boss, Ronald Koeman confirmed this news, both Chelsea and Tottenham have shown a keen interest in signing the player.

But as per the latest news,  the 23-year-old has suffered a fresh injury after returning to training. Barkley already had a lengthy injury lay off during the summer as he had to underwent a hernia operation. And now within just 3 days, he has suffered a hamstring injury.

The English International’s past recovery schedule has already hampered his move out of the Goodison as all the potential suitors were unwilling to pay Everton’s asking price of £50 million. And now with another injury, his price in the market is expected to drop even further.

But apart from the price issue, this injury comes as a severe blow to both Chelsea and Spurs. Both the London outfits wanted to sign the player but they might now have to withdraw their interests and look elsewhere.

Chelsea are out in the market looking to buy an attacking midfielder and more so after their dismal start to the new campaign. While Spurs, on the other hand, are yet to make any kind of signing during the transfer season and Mauricio Pochettino was hopeful of setting the ball rolling with Barkley.
