Chelsea Targeting 24-Year-Old Striker Who Is Set To Play Against Arsenal

0
According to the latest reports, Chelsea are targeting 24-year-old striker Richmond Boakye from Red Star Belgrade.

The Ghanian International joined Belgrade during the 2016/17 season and since then he has scored 27 goals during his 36 appearances. And this fine run of form has ignited the interests from a series of European clubs.

Red Star Belgrade are scheduled to take on Arsenal in the Europa League next week and the report suggests that Chelsea will be sending scouts in order to take a look at Boakye. Apart from Chelsea clubs like Crystal Palace and Celtic have also shown interest in the player.

The Blues have already signed Alvaro Morata during the summer so it is pretty clear that Conte is looking at the 24-year-old as a backup for the Spanish striker. Conte and Boakye already know each other during their time at Juventus but the player failed to impress the manager with his talents.

Chelsea are very short in their attacking department as Alvaro Morata and Michy Batsuayi are the only recognized strikers available to Conte. So it is quite easy to understand why Chelsea are scouting Richmond Boakye.
