Chelsea breezed past Arsenal last weekend in the Premier League but they take on Liverpool in matchweek three – a game where they could very easily drop points for the first time this season.

The Blues have scored five goals in their first two matches without conceding once and with the kind of form they have been under Thomas Tuchel, it’s hard to argue that they are the slight favourites to win all three points.

Liverpool will obviously not let Chelsea walk over them so easily but after the arrival of Romelu Lukaku, the London outfit look a much more potent and cohesive side.

The Anfield outfit have lost just two out of their last 13 PL matches and the home crowd will be an added boost for them but Chelsea are undefeated in nine of their last 10 away matches in the league.

Chelsea team news vs Liverpool:

Thiago Silva had been kept on the bench by Thomas Tuchel against Arsenal but Liverpool pose a much greater threat going forward so we expect the Brazilian to come back into the starting line up, replacing Christensen in the middle.

Antonio Rudiger and Azpilicueta will keep their place in defence from the 2-0 win.

N’Golo Kante came off the bench last weekend but the Frenchman is more than certain to get a start at Anfield, replacing Mateo Kovacic. Jorginho is a guaranteed starter for the Blues.

Reece James was the standout performer vs Arsenal as he tormented Saka and Kieran Tierney down that right-hand side. He got a rating of 9 out of 10 for that performance and he will get the nod ahead of Hudson-Odoi on Saturday as well.

Marcos Alonso has been keeping Ben Chilwell on the bench but this might be the ideal game for the England international to make a comeback to the starting XI.

Alonso though had a pretty solid game against Arsenal but the Spaniard is really weak when it comes to the defensive areas and this should prompt Tuchel to call Chilwell into the side.

Ziyech and Werner both came off the bench against the Gunners and we think the manager will not risk changing his front three for such a crucial away game.

Romelu Lukaku will lead the line with Mason Mount and Kai Havertz playing just behind the Belgian centre-forward.

Some experts have suggested that Timo Werner might be called back into the side just to exploit that pace behind the Liverpool defence but we don’t think Tuchel will look to rest either Havertz or Mount.
