Chelsea have seen a slump in form over the past few weeks in the Premier League and with this poor form, they take on Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Chelsea are undefeated in their last 7 home matches in the league but have managed only one win out of their last five games.

Frank Lampard has looked clueless at times but reports claim the management are ready to back him – at least until the end of the season. They had started the season in fine fashion but all these dropped points mean they have slipped out of the top-four and going into this weekend’s match they are in the fifth spot with 26 points.

The Blues boss rested several key players in midweek vs Aston Villa but most of them will return to the starting XI on Sunday meaning Man City will not have it easy at the Bridge.

Chelsea team news vs Man City:

Lampard rested both Thiago Silva and Kurt Zouma in midweek but they will return to the starting line-up vs Manchester City.

Ben Chilwell will retain his place at left-back but Reece James is still expected to be out with a hamstring injury. With James out of contention, Azpilicueta will start at right-back.

Jorginho will move to the bench on Sunday vs Manchester City as N’Golo Kante takes the defensive midfielder’s role. Mateo Kovacic was rested vs Villa but will come into the side as Mason Mount keeps his place.

Kai Havertz has been really underwhelming ever his move to England and he is not expected to find a place in the starting XI. He may come on as a second-half substitute.

Hakim Ziyech is still recovering from his injury and will be unavailable for selection which allows Callum Hudson-Odoi to retain his spot vs Manchester City.

Olivier Giroud scored against Aston Villa in midweek but the Frenchman will be rested and by virtue of rotation, Tammy Abraham will come into the side.

Timo Werner has been in really poor form this season and he’s once again likely to be kept on the bench on Sunday. This means Pulisic will operate on one of the wings.
