Chelsea picked up their first win of the season beating Norwich City by a scoreline of 3-2 last weekend and next up they take on Sheffield United at home.

The Blues are currently 13th on the league table with four points – the same points tally as Sheffield who sit on the 9th spot based on goal difference.

On paper, this game should not cause to much trouble to Frank Lampard but a few first-team players are likely to be unavailable for this game which might just tip the balance in favour of the visiting side.

Chelsea news vs Sheffield United:

The Blues manager made a few reshuffles to his first XI vs the Canaries and we expect him to make a few more changes this weekend as well.

The likes of Ruben Loftus Cheek and Recee James remain long term absentees and will miss this weekend’s clash.

Callum Hudson-Odoi has returned back to training after his injury but the youngster is not match-fit meaning he too will not feature vs Sheffield United.

N’Golo Kante did not feature in central midfield vs Norwich after he picked up an ankle sprain and reports suggest that he has a 50-50 chance of playing this weekend.

If Kante does miss out then there is a big possibility that Ross Barkley gets to keep his place in the first XI.

But there is also the chance that Mason Mount moves back to the midfield area after having played down the wings vs the Canaries in which case Barkley will drop back to the bench as Kovacic and Jorginho play in central midfield.

Mount himself was forced off the Norwich game with a calf injury during the dying stages of the match but the manager has revealed that the injury is not too serious and the youngster should be fit in time to be available for selection.

Tammy Abraham started upfront last weekend and the youngster ended the game with a brace – including the 68th-minute winner.

And we believe he has done enough to keep his place in the starting XI intact when Sheffield visit Stamford Bridge.

This means Olivier Giroud will start the game on the bench and will come on to replace Abraham most likely towards the final quarter of the match.

Willian also came off the bench vs the Canaries and there is a big chance that the Brazilian will be handed a start by Frank Lampard.
