Chelsea have been on a roll under their new manager Thomas Tuchel and this past week, they managed to knock out Atletico Madrid from the Champions League.

The Blues completely outclassed and outplayed the Spanish side and with this boosted confidence they now have the chance to progress to the next round of the FA Cup if they can beat Sheffield United in the quarter-finals on Sunday.

The Blades are in a dismal run of form this season in the Premier League and they go into this match at the back of a 5-0 thumping at the hands of Leicester City last weekend. The Blades are probably going to be relegated from the English top division at the end of this season and this could energize them to throw the kitchen sink at Chelsea on Sunday.

This though will be easier said than done, since Sheffield have decided to sack Chris Wilder and they are now being taken care of by Paul Heckingbottom.

Tuchel has only a handful of injuries to deal with going into this match but much like every game, the manager is expected to make a few changes to his first XI since he’s still unsure as to what his best starting line-up at Chelsea is.

Chelsea team news vs Sheffield United:

Christensen missed the Atletico Madrid game due to illness but he’s expected to return to the starting line-up this weekend, replacing Kurt Zouma in central defence. Thiago Silva will not be back to complete fitness before the international break.

Reece James will also move to the bench as Callum Hudson-Odoi comes into the side and plays as the right-sided midfielder against the Blades.

Thomas Tuchel has been using Marcos Alonso and Ben Chilwell alternatively and since the Spaniard featured against Atletico in midweek, it’s a safe bet that the latter will be named in the starting line-up on Sunday.

N’Golo Kante was one of the best players on the pitch in midweek but with Jorginho once again available, the Chelsea boss could look to rest the Frenchman. Mateo Kovacic will keep his place in central midfield.

Mason Mount was another player who was suspended for the second leg of the Champions League tie but he is a definite starter against Sheffield United.

Christian Pulisic has been making constant substitute appearances for Chelsea under their new manager but the American should get a rare start this time around as the manager looks to rest Hakim Ziyech.

Tammy Abraham is still out with his ankle injury but even if he’s fit we don’t think the manager will be too eager to use him. Olivier Giroud could replace Timo Werner up front but there’s also a chance that the German could retain his place in the starting line-up.
