Chelsea take on Spurs in the English Premier League this Thursday and Thomas Tuchel is expected to be without midfielder Kai Havertz and defender Kurt Zouma.

The manager, during his press conference, revealed that both the players had picked up knocks during training and are now in doubt for the clash game against Jose Mourinho’s men.

‘We had two little issues today on the training pitch,’ reported Tuchel, as per the club’s official website.

‘Kurt Zouma and Kai Havertz went off the pitch with little issues. They are checking now, doing images right now, and it’s questionable whether they are in the squad for tomorrow. Everybody else is available.

‘I am very happy to compete with a strong team against his side. I am very happy to arrive with our quality, with our mentality and with the atmosphere we have right now. That’s the most important thing.

‘Tottenham are very competitive, and very strong. It will be a challenge. Is it a clash of cultures? I don’t know.

‘Jose is a winner and I want to implement the same in my team. We are at the highest level to win games and we will try everything tomorrow to beat them in their stadium.’

The injuries mean Thomas Tuchel could have reduced bench strength going into this key game but we doubt is the absence of Kai Havertz and Zouma will cause too many headaches for the new Chelsea manager.

Rudiger is likely to start alongside Thiago Silva and Azpilicueta in a three-man backline and if Kai Havetz is not available for selection then Mason Mount gets to start.

Selection-wise Tuchel should not have any major issues but it will be a personal loss for the two players if they miss out against Spurs on Thursday.
