Chelsea face Aston Villa in the Premier League this weekend and they need to pick up a win to be able to retain their top-four spot this season.

The Blues have moved up to third on the league table thanks to that midweek win over Leicester City at home and in their final matchweek, they will take on Aston Villa.

Chelsea have a really important Champions League final coming up against Manchester City but Thomas Tuchel will not be able to rest his regular players on Sunday with UCL qualification for the next season still hanging in the balance.

Thankfully Christensen and Kai Havertz will both be back from injuries so the Chelsea boss will have the chance to rotate his players at Villa Park. But the big headache for Tuchel will be with the fitness of midfielder N’Golo Kante and the manager has admitted that it will be touch and go for the Frenchman on Sunday.

‘Andreas Christensen will be in the squad,’ said Tuchel in his press conference. ‘He did full training today and also yesterday without any problems so he will be back.

‘Kai Havertz did a test today and will be in team training tomorrow.

‘With N’Golo, it’s going to be very close but still some hopes that he maybe joins team training tomorrow. If not, then he will join on Monday.’

Timo Werner played superbly well against Leicester City in midweek and there’s a big chance the Chelsea boss preserves him for the Champions League final.

And as far as N’Golo Kante is concerned, he is going to be the trump card for Chelsea against Manchester City so there’s no way that Thomas Tuchel will risk him on Sunday if he is not 100% fit.

With Mateo Kovacic returning from injury the Croatian seems much more likely to partner up with Jorginho in midfield against Aston Villa.
