Chelsea picked up an emphatic 7-1 win over Grimsby Town in the League Cup during midweek and next up they shift their focus back to the Premier League.

This Saturday, the Blues play their fourth home game in a row when they take on Brighton in the league.

Chelsea suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool in their last league outing and this loss meant the Stamford Bridge outfit has managed to pick up only two wins in the league so far.

The home side are currently 11th on the league table with 8 points but they should be able to move up the ladder this weekend since Brighton have managed only one win in their first 6 matches and that too came during the opening weekend vs Watford.

Chelsea news vs Brighton:

Against Grimsby Town, Frank Lampard made a number of changes to his starting XI as he had a few players making their comebacks from injuries.

The likes of Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi both featured in midweek and had pretty good outings. But we don’t think the manager will give them back to back starts since they have just been declared fit.

Emerson picked up a thigh injury last weekend and the Italian is not expected to return before the international break which means Marcos Alonso gets to start at left-back.

Zouma should keep his place from midweek and will most certainly be partnered by Tomori in central defence since both Antonio Rudiger and Christensen are currently ruled out with injuries.

Jorginho remained an unused substitute during the league cup clash while N’Golo Kante did not feature in the matchday squad. But the duo are sure to be named in the first XI for the Chelsea vs Brighton game on Saturday.

Christian Pulisic started in midweek but the former Borussia Dortmund man will likely make way for Willian while Mason Mount operates from the opposite flank.

Michy Batshuayi scored two goals vs Grimsby Town but the Belgian international should move back to the bench as Tammy Abraham plays up front on Saturday.

But with Olivier Giroud out with an illness, Batshuayi will get some game time as he is likely to come on during the final quarter of the game.
