Chelsea suffered their second defeat of the season this time losing 2-1 to Wolves away from home.

The Blues made the perfect start as Ruben Loftus-Cheek gave them the lead early on in the first half and with the chances they got, Sarri men should have put the game to bed in the first half itself.

But that did not happen and Wolves managed to hit back with two goals within four minutes in the second half.

And this was enough for Nuno Santo’s team to pick up all three points.

The loss means Chelsea are now ten points behind league leaders Manchester City and full-back Marcos Alonso believes that their next game against the defending champions will be a do or die match.

Alonso told Standard Sport: “Yes, we are hurting right now. We are not doing very well at the moment. It’s more than what we are doing individually, it’s all of us as a team. We have to get better as a collective.

“We had the chances to win against Wolves, we controlled the first half and began the second with some more opportunities.

“Then, like the last few games, we were not loyal to our style of play.

“We have to work hard, stay together and get back to winning as soon as possible. It’s early to talk about this [being out of the title race], but if we lose to City we will be 13 points from the top and that is a lot of points [to make up]. But we just have to think about preparing well and not think about the table.

“It’s a perfect opportunity for us to bounce back.

“It will be a great game and everyone will be very motivated to play. It is a chance for us to respond.

“Everyone is very disappointed after the Wolves defeat, but we have to get back to work in training and on Saturday be better as a side.

“Can I say what’s going wrong exactly? Not really. We have to play more as a team.

“It is something that we have to analyse, the manager will have to, and we will try to improve as quickly as possible.”

Chelsea are currently fourth on the league table with 31 points and if they were to lose their next Premier League game vs Manchester City then surely Maurizio Sarri’s men will be out of the title challenge.
