Chelsea take on Spurs this Wednesday in the Premier League and before the game there has been a reshuffle of officials.

The London Derby is easily the biggest encounter this week and the Professional Game Match Officials Board(PGMOL) have decided not to draw unnecessary attention to this game.

For those of you who do not know what we are talking about then it is Mike Dean who has been removed from the Chelsea vs Spurs game.

Dean was scheduled to be on the touchline for the London Derby but the decision to remove him comes after Mauricio Pochettino’s heated confrontation with him after Spurs’ loss to Burnley this weekend.

While it is still unclear as to what the Lilywhites boss had actually said but we can assure you that it wasn’t exactly pretty.

Pochettino has been charged for his misconduct but the PGMOL feared that with Mike Dean being the fourth official during the Chelsea vs Spurs game, tempers could flair once again.

So the referee has now been allocated a new job.

As per Sky Sport:

“Dean was due to be fourth official for Tottenham’s trip to Stamford Bridge.

“However, the Professional Game Match Officials Board (PGMOL) have confirmed Dean will now be on the touchline for Manchester City’s match against West Ham at the Etihad.”

The referee for the Chelsea vs Spurs game will be Andre Marriner, while the assistants are Scott Ledger and Simon Long.
