Romelu Lukaku Chelsea

Romelu Lukaku has been trying every trick in the book to be able to return to Inter and it seems like Chelsea will eventually grant him that wish.

Lukaku has been a massive failure at Chelsea in the previous season and as per some rumours, the forward has been in constant touch with the Inter management and players since Christmas, in the hopes that the club will bring him back.

This news hasn’t gone down too well with the Chelsea fans and now there are whispers that Thomas Tuchel has also lost patience and is willing to send Romelu Lukaku out.

The forward wants to join Inter and since the Serie A side won’t be able to pay any sort of extravagant transfer fee for Romelu Lukaku, the Blues could opt for a swap deal. Chelsea might try to sign Alessandro Bastoni and Lautaro Martinez in a swap deal for their Belgian flop.

Will Inter agree to this swap deal?

The Serie A side need to sell one or two of their biggest assets this summer to be able to balance their books and Alessandro Bastoni along with Lautaro Martinez are the ones who have been linked with an exit.

Experts believe only one of these players needs to be sold for the necessary funds to arrive so either way, we expect Inter to cash in on one of them before deadline day.

We highly doubt if the Nerazzurri will agree to swap two players for one but Romelu Lukaku in exchange for either Martinez or Bastoni is very much possible.

How will a swap deal affect Man United and Tottenham?

Alessandro Bastoni is a target for both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur and if he is part of the swap deal then it’s really bad news for both these clubs.

Chelsea also need a new centre-back because Antonio Rudiger has joined Real Madrid and Christensen is off to Barcelona so Bastoni won’t be an undesirable arrival at all.

The Blues will happily take the central defender in exchange for Lukaku and if Inter agree to this arrangement then Spurs and United will be helpless.

Erik ten Hag has other centre-back targets on his radar so the new Man United boss won’t be too disheartened but Antonio Conte very badly wants to be reunited with the 23-year-old.

In the end, a swap deal is still a long shot but given how poorly Romelu Lukaku performed last season, Thomas Tuchel won’t hesitate to send him off – if he gets the right value from the forward’s exit. A loan move is also a possibility but these scenarios will only be decided once these two clubs meet in the coming days.
