Tottenham Hotspur had failed to sign a single player during the summer transfer window but despite that Mauricio Pochettino has worked wonders with his current squad.

Spurs are currently in the top three of the Premier League table and many pundits feel that the manager has done more than enough with the limited resources that Daniel Levy has provided him with.

But another major concern for the Lilywhites is the fact that a couple of first-team players could head for the exit doors if they fail to win a silverware this season.

And Mauricio Pochettino has made it clear that Christen Eriksen could be one such player who might leave the club at the end of the season.

“He[Christen Eriksen] is happy here, he is showing his commitment,” Pochettino said.

“Then what is going to happen in between him and the club is not only in our hands.

“I’m not a person that suffers too much in this type of situation because football is dynamic. Football is about interests that as managers we sometimes cannot manage. It depends on many things in this business – different parties that have interests.

“Of course Christian Eriksen is such an important player for Tottenham and of course as a person or as a professional coach or manager, you would like to have this type of player with you.

“But in the end, it’s a negotiation and there’s different parties that have different interests.

“It will be fantastic if Christian Eriksen is going to be committed with the club long-term. And if not it’s his right to do what he wants to do.”

Christen Eriksen’s current deal with Spurs end in 2020 and the club have been trying to make the Danish international sign a new deal.

But right now the talks seems to hit a dead end despite reports suggesting that Spurs are willing to offer Christen Eriksen a pay rise.

If the player does not sign a new deal by the end of the season then a lot of top European clubs would pop up to buy the attacking midfielder.
